Invisible Histories’ unique brand of arts-based creation is a way to visually and viscerally connect the public to experiences from the past. Invisible Histories will involve diverse research and production partners to complete our team for each project.

Elke Hautala
Elke Hautala is a filmmaker, performer and visual anthropologist, with a passion for connecting the public to history.
She seeks to emphasize the extraordinary in the everyday moments that make up our lives.
Invisible Histories brings together her previous work, such as her forthcoming film Khu.éex’:The Magic of Noise (about the journey of a Seattle based indigenous band to overcome cultural genocide), to mixed media projects like 3,260 Souls, and theatrical productions based on historical research like her Potter’s Field Seance at the 2023 Haunted History Tour in Georgetown.
She recently completed her Master’s Degree from HMKW Berlin.

Cari Simson
Cari Simson is an environmental consultant and creative mixed media artist, catalyst and producer, bringing big ideas to fruition by assembling diverse teams and partnerships.
Currently, the Invisible Histories podcast and production company provides a creative research and writing outlet for her interests in unearthing lost stories and bringing them to the public.
Previously, Cari produced the Friends of Georgetown History’s annual Georgetown Haunted History Tour from 2021-2023, which brought diverse performers together to weave historical information together with spooky entertainment.
